Work: For the past 2 years I have been working at Ericsson Telecommunication. Ericsson is a multinational company located in lots of countries all over the world. As I live in the Netherlands, the site I am currently working at is in Rijen, the Netherlands. It is only 15km from where I live. When I started at Ericsson I was working in IT-Support. As my education hasn't really been related to information technology I really needed to learn a lot, which was a big dhallenge. After a few months the support organisation went through some big changes. ITIL, a methodology of giving support through guided processes was introduced and my role in that was to consult management regarding organisational impact. A call-center was to be introduced and a call-logging system to be implemented. After this project I was asked to work for Research & Development, to create a similar support structure for them as there was for the rest of the Ericsson site. As I still had all the information and contacts this was done rather quickly and a new project was due to start.

As Linux was becoming more and more popular amongst the true goeroes within R&D it wasn't a big   surprise to find out a project was about to be started to create a user-friendly, windows compatible Linux user interface. This project lead to a fantastic product within 6 months, which was sold to some  major Dutch mutinational companies. The project is now finished and being maintained and further  developed by R&D.

Right now I just started a new project, which is  most likely to become a long term project. It involves deisgning software through some set processes. It is another big challenge and hopefully it'll end up as  well as the other projects have so far.

Spare Time In my spare time I like to do anything but work! I play soccer every week, just started this summer, which is sometimes very painfull and makes me feel muscles I never even knew I had. I also like to go to different cities in the weekends and stroll around a bit, do some shopping and relax in a bar. During the week I usually don't really have too much energy to go otu and thus I am watching tv a bit and play around with icq or netmeeting. I am really impressed with the quality of communications over the internet. With netmeeting for example it is amazing how the video images come through. I really wonder how long it'll take before internet will make fixed phones absolete.
